Jobless man kills partner<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Pamulang police, South Jakarta, arrested a 19-
\nyear-old jobless man on Thursday for allegedly killing Abdul
\nKarim, 60, a man he claimed was his homosexual partner, an
\nofficer said.<\/p>\n
During preliminary questioning, the suspect, identified only
\nas Sup, allegedly admitted to having killed Abdul, who, he said,
\nhad lived with him for about eighteen months, at about 6:30 a.m.
\non Thursday because of jealousy, South Jakarta police chief Lt.
\nCol. Satrya Hari Prasetya said.<\/p>\n
According to Satrya, police have seized a knife used by the
\nsuspect to commit the crime, and Sup's bloodstained shirt as
\nevidence.<\/p>\n
"In the beginning, Sup denied the crime but admitted it later
\nafter he failed to defend his alibi," the officer was quoted on
\nFriday by Antara.<\/p>\n
Satrya said police were still looking for an eyewitness named
\nKeri, who was believed to be walking with the victim on Jl.
\nAllasea Mas, Villa Pamulang Mas, housing complex on the Thursday
\nmorning of the murder.<\/p>\n
Abdul, who was hired to take care of a house in the complex,
\ndied due to a stab wound to the left side of his chest.<\/p>\n
The murder occurred 300 meters from the house.<\/p>\n
After being stabbed, Abdul was left to die until he was found
\nby local residents. Keri, who was with him, ran away and is still
\nat large, Satrya said.<\/p>\n
Local police arrived at the scene after reports from residents
\nand questioned the locals, including Sup.<\/p>\n
During questioning, Sup allegedly said that he was very upset
\nwith Abdul, who had strengthened his relationship with Keri, a
\ntrader offering knife sharpening.<\/p>\n
According to officer Satrya, the knife used by Sup to stab the
\nvictim belonged to Keri.<\/p>\n
Sup may face the death sentence because he admitted to having
\nplanned the murder a day earlier, he said. (bsr)<\/p>",
