However, it also signals the\ndisappearance of numerous jobs in the post-AI era.<\/p>\n<p>Research from Harvard Business School conducted findings shortly\nafter the public launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. The study analysed\njob vacancies from 2019 to March 2025, using a dataset covering almost\nall job openings in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>One of the findings was a 13% decrease in job vacancies involving\nstructured and repetitive tasks following the public launch of ChatGPT\nin November 2022. These roles are likely replaceable by generative AI.\nIn contrast, demand for jobs related to analytical, technical, or\ncreative tasks that can be enhanced by AI experienced an increase of up\nto 20%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRather than eliminating jobs, generative AI is creating new demand\nfor roles vulnerable to capability enhancement, indicating that human-AI\ncollaboration is the primary driver of labour market transformation,\u201d\nexplained the study\u2019s researcher, Professor Suraj Srinivasan.<\/p>\n<p>Professions with the potential for AI enhancement are those capable\nof handling tasks that can be automated with generative AI alongside\ntasks requiring human involvement. Some of the professions likely to\nexperience the highest increase include microbiologists, financial\nanalysts, and clinical neuropsychologists. Within the financial sector,\ninvestment managers and analysts can utilise AI tools to process and\nevaluate market data, as well as perform assessments and\ndecision-making.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the research results also show that the skills requested\nin job vacancies have decreased by up to 7%. Additionally, the research\nteam detected more AI-related skills in jobs with high potential for\nenhancement, including prompt engineering and the use of AI tools.<\/p>\n<p>Srinivasan provided several recommendations for companies regarding\nthe impact of AI on employment. One suggestion is to invest in\nupskilling programmes to transition workers into roles enhanced by AI.\nFurthermore, companies should pursue continuous skill development in\ngenerative AI to leverage new tools.<\/p>\n<p>He reminded companies that generative AI is not a cost-cutting\nmeasure, but rather a capability enhancer. \u201cIt is not a cost-saving\nstep; instead, align workforce training programmes to support job\ntransitions and evolving skill demands,\u201d he explained.<\/p>",
