Job seekers deceiver arrested<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: A woman was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly
\ndeceiving some 200 female job seekers by promising to employ them
\nat PT Mandiri Putra, a subsidiary of PT Panarub shoe company, on
\nJl. M. Toha, Tangerang.<\/p>\n
The suspect, Lili Marlina, 24, had asked each job seeker to
\nsubmit between Rp 400,000 (US$47) and Rp 600,000 for
\n\"administrative procedures\" and promised them the job.<\/p>\n
One of the victims, Lisa, 28, told The Jakarta Post that they
\nwere asked by Marlina to wait outside PT Panarub while she talked
\nto Neng Nuraini, who she claimed was a recruitment officer of PT
\nMandiri Putra, at a food stall.<\/p>\n
The suspicious job seekers then checked with security guards
\nat PT Panarub to inquire whether PT Mandiri Putra was a
\nsubsidiary of the company and they were shocked to learn that the
\ncompany did not have any subsidiaries. The guards' statement was
\nconfirmed by PT Panarub general manager Phan Tjun Thu.<\/p>\n
The guards then nabbed Marlina, who was still at the food
\nstall, and handed her over to Tangerang Police.<\/p>\n
\"We don't care what the police do to that woman, we just want
\nour money back,\" said another job seeker Tusihat. -- JP<\/p>",
