A participant of Indonesia's National Health Insurance (JKN) programme has reported receiving prompt and non-discriminatory care at a Yogyakarta hospital's emergency department. Yuni Kaswanti, who has used the scheme since 2016, noted that treatment was immediate and equal to that of general patients, with no additional costs. She expressed hope that BPJS Kesehatan and partner hospitals will continue to improve their already commendable service quality.

Jakarta - A participant of the National Health Insurance (JKN)
programme, Yuni Kaswanti, has assessed that services at a hospital’s
Emergency Department (IGD) were swift when she accompanied her husband
for treatment at RS DKT Dr. Soetarto in Yogyakarta.

“It was easy, not difficult. Like yesterday, when we went to the IGD,
we were served immediately and quickly, given treatment straight away,
did not wait long, and there was never any discrimination. So far, the
service has always been the same, even though we were once registered in
Class 3, it was just the same as the service for general patients. We
feel it remains optimal,” Yuni said in her statement on Thursday.

Yuni said she and her husband received immediate care upon arrival at
the hospital using their JKN programme coverage.

“As soon as we arrived, there was immediate service. We used JKN
coverage; my husband and I are Class 2 participants,” she stated.

She assessed that the hospital’s service does not differentiate
between JKN participants and general patients.

Yuni has been utilising JKN services since 2016, or since she and her
husband first married. Throughout using the service, she admitted to
receiving good healthcare, from first-level health facilities to
hospitals in the Yogyakarta area.

“In the Yogyakarta area, I feel that the service from the community
health centre (puskesmas) is already good and the service is excellent.
At the hospital, from the nurses onwards, they are also good, kind, and
friendly to patients and their families,” she said.

“There is no such thing as additional costs while using this JKN.
From treatment to the medicines we consume, everything is free and
guaranteed. Without JKN, medical costs would certainly be large and
quite burdensome for the family. But with JKN, we can just focus on my
husband’s condition,” Yuni remarked.

She hopes the quality of JKN services and partner hospitals will
continue to be improved, even though the service received so far is
already considered good.

“My hope for the future is that BPJS Kesehatan becomes even better,
as well as hospital services. So far, the service has been good and
friendly,” she said.
",
