Jiwasraya's premium up<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned life insurance firm PT Asuransi
\nJiwasraya said its gross premium increased by 75.97 percent to Rp
\n462.8 billion (US$40.5 million) between January and June, from Rp
\n351.6 billion in the same period last year.<\/p>\n
Company president Soedradjat Djajakoesoema said late last week
\nthe increase was mainly due to a growth in sales of existing and
\nnewly launched products.<\/p>\n
\"It indicates the strong response from the public to our
\nfirm,\" he was quoted by Antara as saying.<\/p>\n
He added that three of the company's 17 branches -- two in
\nJakarta and one in Surabaya, accounted for about 50 percent of
\nthe total premium.<\/p>\n
Soedradjat said the first semester result was 44 percent of
\nthe full-year premium target of Rp 1.04 trillion.<\/p>\n
\"Therefore, we are more than optimistic about meeting this
