Jihad group raids discotheque<\/p>\n
PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Around 150 people claiming to
\nrepresent the Toriqotul Jihad Front (FTJ) Muslim group raided a
\ndiscotheque on Sunday, seizing 52 bottles of alcohol and bringing
\nthem to the police.<\/p>\n
Members of the front's Kebumen and Banyumas chapters forced
\ntheir way into the discotheque located in a three-star hotel and
\ndamaged glass cabinets and several bottles of spirits.<\/p>\n
Two of the hotel's employees were assaulted during the attack.<\/p>\n
The mob voluntarily dispersed after police led by Banyumas
\nPolice station chief Supt. Imam Basuki arrived at the scene. The
\nprotesters demanded the police stop the sale of liquor and
\nprostitutes at the discotheque.<\/p>\n
Imam told The Jakarta Post on Sunday that he deplored the
\nincident, saying that the bar at the discotheque complied with
\nthe law.<\/p>\n
\"The group did not have the authority to raid and occupy the
\nplace,\" he added.<\/p>\n
The front's leaders will meet other Muslim leaders on Tuesday
