        "content": "<p>JICT gets new direct call<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT)<br>\nannounced on Wednesday it had received its first direct call<br>\nservice of the year from the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping<br>\nLines (IRISL).<\/p>\n<p>JICT president Simon Moore said the direct container shipping<br>\nprovided by IRISL was the only service linking Indonesia with<br>\nMiddle Eastern countries.<\/p>\n<p>\"The new IRISL service will allow Indonesian exporters to<br>\nenhance their businesses because now they can ship their cargo<br>\ndirectly to Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and<br>\nIran,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said JICT was optimistic about business prospects in 2000<br>\nafter recording nine new direct call services in its first nine<br>\nmonths of operation last year.<\/p>\n<p>JICT is jointly owned by state-owned PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II<br>\nand Hutchinson Port Holdings.
