        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 Jetour plans to expand its product line in Indonesia by\nlaunching the Jetour T2 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) version\nin the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This move aligns with the global automotive industry trend,\nparticularly among Chinese manufacturers who are increasingly\nintroducing plug-in hybrid vehicles. This technology is regarded as a\ntransition solution towards electrification because it continues to\noffer a petrol engine whilst also providing the ability to drive on\nelectric power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking at market demand, particularly in the Jetour segment, there\nis indeed a shift in interest from conventional internal combustion\nengines (ICE) to PHEVs. For this reason, we see potential in this\nsegment,\u201d said Ranggy in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also conducted internal research. Our objective is to bring\nnew options to consumers in this segment, and we believe the demand\nindeed exists,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ranggy, the Jetour T2 PHEV maintains its character as an\nadventurous-style SUV. However, the vehicle is designed to remain\ncomfortable for use in various road conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot say that this is an SUV that is truly focused on heavy\noff-road driving. However, this vehicle can be used in two\n\u2018environments\u2019,\u201d said Ranggy.<\/p>\n<p>For reference, the Jetour T2 currently marketed with a conventional\nengine uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing\n250 horsepower with peak torque of 390 Nm.<\/p>\n<p>This power is delivered through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic\ntransmission (DCT) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) system, making it\nsufficiently capable of supporting driving needs in difficult terrain\nand outdoor activities.<\/p>\n<p>The combined power from the hybrid system is estimated to reach more\nthan 296 horsepower, depending on the battery specifications used.<\/p>\n<p>With the introduction of PHEV technology, the Jetour T2 is expected\nto provide an alternative for consumers who desire a powerful SUV whilst\nremaining more efficient and environmentally friendly.<\/p>",
