The Jember Regency Government, through the Technical Implementation
Unit of the Banjarsengon Community Health Centre, is accelerating
preventive health measures for the younger generation by conducting the
Outbreak Response Immunisation (ORI) for Measles programme. This
proactive outreach was centred at several points in the Alamanda
Posyandu, Bintoro Ward, Patrang Subdistrict, from Wednesday (25/3) to
Thursday (26/3/2026).

This step was taken to ensure that all toddlers and children in the
area receive additional immunity against the measles virus. Based on
observations at the site, community enthusiasm was high, with dozens of
mothers queuing from early morning to vaccinate their children.

The Head of Social Welfare Problem Holders (PMKS) Section in Bintoro
Ward, Assyifa, who directly oversaw the implementation, appreciated the
collective awareness of the community. “We are very grateful to see the
high awareness of parents in Bintoro Ward. This Measles Immunisation
programme is an investment for the future so that our children grow up
healthy and free from the risk of dangerous disease transmission,” said
Assyifa on Thursday (26/3/2026).

This ORI Measles activity is a rapid response to the emergence of
measles cases in several subdistricts in Jember. Data as of March 2026
shows there were 174 suspected measles cases in Jember, with 49 cases
confirmed positive. This situation has prompted the Jember Regency
Government to act massively to achieve the 95% herd immunity target.

The immunisation implementation in Bintoro was spread across several
strategic points, including two health workers on duty, Faizatur
Rosyidah and Nur Hasanah, who promptly provided services along with
education on the dangers of measles complications such as pneumonia,
encephalitis, and blindness in children if not prevented through
immunisation.

The Banjarsengon Community Health Centre urged all parents to remain
vigilant, especially ahead of the high mobility during the 2026 Eid
al-Fitr holidays. If symptoms are found in children such as high fever,
red rash, cough, and red eyes, residents are asked to immediately report
to the nearest health facility.
",
