Achmad Syahri Assidiqi faces dismissal from his membership in the\nJember Regional People\u2019s Representative Council (DPRD), East Java, after\nundergoing an examination by the Gerindra Party\u2019s Honour Council in\nJakarta, on Friday, May 15, 2026. The 25-year-old admitted to regretting\nhis actions of smoking and playing games during a meeting of the DPRD\nJember\u2019s Commission D, East Java, earlier this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI regret it, I apologize for my mistake. That\u2019s all I can say, thank\nyou,\u201d said Syahri at the Gerindra Party\u2019s Central Executive Board\noffice, South Jakarta, Friday.<\/p>\n
Syahri claimed that it was his first time smoking and playing games\non his phone during a meeting. The son of former DPR member, Achmad\nFadil Muzakki, also stated that he simply made a mistake at the\ntime.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just made a mistake as a human being. It\u2019s my first time (doing\nit),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Syahri said he would comply with the reprimand from the Gerindra\nParty and promised not to repeat his mistake. In addition, Syahri chose\nnot to comment further and reiterated his apology.<\/p>\n
The Gerindra Party\u2019s Honour Council issued a reprimand to Syahri, who\nwas found to have violated the Gerindra Party\u2019s Articles of Association\nor Bylaws (AD\/ART). The party\u2019s council assessed that Syahri\u2019s actions\nhad tarnished the name and honour of Gerindra.<\/p>\n
As a result, the reprimand is a final warning, and he will be\ndismissed from his position as a member of the Jember DPRD if he repeats\nthe mistake. The Chairman of the Jember DPRD and also the Chairman of\nthe Gerindra Party\u2019s Jember Branch, Ahmad Halim, accompanied Syahri\nduring the ethics hearing process.<\/p>\n
Ahmad Halim said that the Jember DPRD is still waiting for a copy of\nthe decision from the Gerindra Party Council to determine the next\nsteps. He did not explicitly state whether the Jember DPRD would impose\nits own sanctions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a firm and final reprimand. As you heard from the decision\nof the Party Council. This means that if there is another mistake, there\nwill automatically be some form of dismissal,\u201d said Halim.<\/p>\n
In the verdict, the chairman of the hearing, Fikrah Auliyaurrahman,\nsaid that Syahri was found to have violated the Gerindra Party\u2019s AD\/ART\nand was given a strict reprimand. According to Fikrah, there will be no\ntolerance for Syahri if he violates the rules again.<\/p>\n

The video was reportedly recorded when Commission D of the Jember\nDPRD held a hearing with the Health, Population Control and Family\nPlanning Office, the Social Service, BPJS Kesehatan, and representatives\nfrom the Community Health Centers, on Monday, May 11.<\/p>\n
