        "content": "<p>The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened significantly at the end\nof the first trading session on Monday (24\/8\/2026), reversing direction\nafter the index had broken back through the psychological level of 6,500\nlast week.<\/p>\n<p>Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) at 12.00 WIB,\nthe JCI stood at 6,480.64, down 45 points or 0.69% from the previous\nclosing position of 6,525.69.<\/p>\n<p>The JCI opened at 6,544 and during the first session touched a high\nof 6,551 and a low of 6,474.<\/p>\n<p>The JCI\u2019s decline was accompanied by 370 stocks weakening, 233 stocks\nstrengthening, while 186 other stocks remained stagnant.<\/p>\n<p>Transaction value at the start of trading reached Rp 9.02 trillion\nwith a trading volume of 24.79 billion shares. Transaction frequency was\nrecorded at 1.39 million times.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s financial market entered the fourth trading week of the\nmonth with a number of important sentiments from both domestic and\ninternational sources. Trading activity this week is also shorter due to\nthe national holiday for the Prophet Muhammad\u2019s birthday on Tuesday\n(25\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Domestically, market participants are still observing the results of\nIndonesia\u2019s Balance of Payments (BOP) for the second quarter of 2026 as\nwell as developments in money supply for July 2026 announced by Bank\nIndonesia (BI) last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, investor attention will focus on inflation and economic\ngrowth data from the United States, developments in US consumer income\nand spending, as well as the speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh\nat the Jackson Hole Symposium.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian stock market will also be influenced by the FTSE\nRussell index reshuffle, which has made changes to constituents in the\nFTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS) for the Indonesian stock market\nas part of the September 2026 semi-annual review. Based on data\ncirculating from FTSE Russell, a number of Indonesian issuers\nexperienced changes in market capitalisation classification, including a\ndowngrade from the small cap group to micro cap.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement of the review results was made after the close of\ntrading of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on Friday, 21 August 2026.\nFurthermore, the changes will use trading on 18 September 2026 as the\nrebalancing date and will take effect from the opening of trading on\nMonday, 21 September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>However, the list is not yet fully final. FTSE Russell stated that\nchanges to the review results may still be revised until the close of\ntrading on Friday, 4 September 2026.
