        "content": "<p>The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened weaker by 31 points or 0.41%\nat the level of 7,528 during Wednesday\u2019s trading session, 22 April\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Retail Research at BNI Sekuritas, Fanny Suherman, predicted\nthat the JCI has the potential to move sideways, or flat, in today\u2019s\ntrading.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe JCI has the potential to move sideways today,\u201d said Fanny in her\ndaily research on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that Asian markets strengthened in Tuesday\u2019s trading,\ndriven by investor optimism regarding the prospects of peace\nnegotiations between the US and Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Another positive sentiment was bolstered by increasing interest in\nthe artificial intelligence (AI) sector. In South Korea, the Kospi index\nsurged 2.7%, and the Kosdaq rose 0.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Japan, the Nikkei 225 strengthened by 0.9%, Topix\nweakened by 0.18%, and Australia\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX 200 fell moderately by\n0.04%. On the other hand, Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng rose 0.34%, and Taiwan\u2019s\nTaiex soared 1.75%.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, market participants are awaiting the confirmation\nhearing for Kevin Warsh as a candidate for Fed leadership.
