Jazz singer's home hit by burglars<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: Burglars broke into the home of jazz singer Saira
\nSyaharani Ibrahim in Bintaro Jaya, Tangerang, late on Wednesday,
\nand made off with a total of Rp 100 million (US$11,765)-worth of
\nmusical recording equipment.<\/p>\n
When the burglary took place, Syaharani was performing at the
\nBalai Kartini on Jl. Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, in an event to
\nmark Kartini Day.<\/p>\n
She reported the robbery to the police on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
\"My brother called me at 9 p.m. and told me that burglars had
\nbroken into my house and stolen musical and other equipment. They
\nleft the door open when they left,\" she said.<\/p>\n
The burglars took two computers, a recording mixer, a fax
\nmachine, a microphone, guitars and Rp 500,000 in cash belonging
\nto Syaharani's maid.<\/p>\n
\"I bought all these things one by one over a long period to
\nfulfill my dream of having my own recording studio at home. But
\nnow its all gone,\" she said.<\/p>\n
According to Syaharani, her neighbors saw a minivan pass by
\nher house a number of times before parking in front of the house
\nat about 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The incident is being investigated by Pondok Aren police. --
