Jasindo\u2019s\nDirector of Human Resources and General Affairs, Dewi Utari, stated that\nthe programme forms part of the company\u2019s commitment to supporting\nsustainable development, particularly in the area of public health.\n\u201cStunting is not merely a health issue, but also concerns the future of\nthe nation\u2019s generation,\u201d said Utari in a statement in Jakarta on\nSaturday. She conveyed the company\u2019s commitment to improving the quality\nof life for the community through the Narasemesta programme, which\nfocuses on preventing stunting in children and educating pregnant women\nin Desa Tetaf, South Central Timor Regency. The programme adopts the\ntheme \u201cPrevent Stunting through Creating a Healthy Generation &amp;\nNutritional Food Education\u201d, with an educational, preventive, and\ncommunity empowerment approach. \u201cThrough Narasemesta, we aim to be\ncloser to the community by providing education, nutritional support, and\nencouraging food self-sufficiency, so that prevention efforts can be\ncarried out sustainably,\u201d Utari remarked. Around 150 participants,\nconsisting of pregnant women, mothers with children aged 1,000 days of\nlife, mothers with toddlers, prospective teenage brides, and the general\npublic, were involved in the programme. In addition to education, the\ncompany also distributed nutritious food aid such as rice, eggs, and\ncorn biscuits, as well as support for protein self-sufficiency in the\nform of 150 pullet chickens complete with feed and equipment. To\nstrengthen health services, Utari said the company also provided health\nequipment aid such as digital baby scales, infantometers, and\nstadiometers. Utari added that the selection of Desa Tetaf was based on\nthe high risk of stunting and limited access to nutritious food and\nhealth services. \u201cWe want to ensure that the interventions carried out\nare not only short-term, but can create real and sustainable changes in\nthe community,\u201d Utari added.
