Jasa Marga asks for bigger toll fee share<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): PT Jasa Marga asked yesterday for a fairer share
\nof profits gained from the city toll roads it jointly operates
\nwith PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada, a unit of the Citra
\nLamtorogung group.<\/p>\n
\"Citra Marga should not use the size of investments as the
\nonly yardstick for determining the profit-sharing ratio made on
\ncity toll roads,\" Jasa Marga's spokesman Yunial Harun said as
\nreported by Antara yesterday.<\/p>\n
Jasa Marga is the state-owned developer and operator of all
\ntoll road and bridges. Private investors in toll roads are
\nrequired to set up joint ventures with Jasa Marga.<\/p>\n
Ratio<\/p>\n
Harun added that the number of automobiles using toll roads
\nshould also be considered in fixing the profit-sharing ratio.<\/p>\n
The present profit-sharing ratio for toll roads in Jakarta is
\n75 percent for PT Citra Marga and 25 percent for Jasa Marga.<\/p>\n
Supporting his argument, Harun cited the Grogol-Cawang-Tanjung
\nPriok-Pluit toll road as an example.<\/p>\n
He admitted that the costs of the Cawang-Tanjung Priok and
\nTanjung Priok-Pluit sections, which were built by PT Citra Marga
\nwere bigger than those of the Pluit-Grogol and Grogol-Pluit
\nsections, which were constructed by Jasa Marga.<\/p>\n
\"Nevertheless, the traffic volume on the sections built by
\nJasa Marga are often much higher than those on the sections built
\nby Citra Marga,\" he pointed out.<\/p>\n
Therefore, he argued, the profit-sharing ratio for the toll
\nroad should not be based largely on the size of investments in
\nparticular sections but also on the number of cars passing
