Japan's aid for boats<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Japan will provide 1.625 billion yen (US$16.36
\nmillion) and Rp 10.37 billion ($4.68 million) to aid Indonesia in
\nits procurement of four navigation boats, an official says.<\/p>\n
"The aid, to be provided under a soft loan financing scheme
\nthrough the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, will cover the
\ncosts of designing and engineering the planned boats, the
\nprocurement of materials and navigation facilities, as well as
\nthe training of crew members," said Sudarman Sellong, president
\nof PT Dok & Perkapalan Surabaya, the state-owned company hired to
\nconstruct the boats.<\/p>\n
Sudarman signed a contract yesterday with Director General of
\nSea Transportation Soentoro, which stipulates that construction
\nof the boats will be completed within 19 months.(fhp)<\/p>",
