        "content": "<p>Indonesia has received an investment commitment from Japan worth\nUS$23.1 billion, or approximately Rp390.39 trillion (assuming an\nexchange rate of Rp16,900 per US dollar). This amount was obtained\nfollowing President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s visit to the Land of the Rising\nSun on 29-31 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani\nstated that the amount was signed at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum\nin Tokyo on Monday, 30 March 2026. \u201cDespite the ongoing geopolitics in\nthe world, international confidence, especially from Japan, remains\nstrong, and they are committed to carrying out investments in Indonesia\nin the future,\u201d explained Rosan Roeslani in a written statement on\nTuesday, 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Of the total commitment, US$20.9 billion is for the investment in\ndeveloping the Abadi Gas Field in the Masela Block between PT Pertamina\n(Persero) and the Japanese oil and gas company INPEX. Then, US$800\nmillion from SMBC Aviation Capital to the Nusantara Future Energy\nInvestment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, PT Pegadaian (Persero) has received a funding commitment\nof US$300 million from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to support\nfinancial inclusion and the development of the gold ecosystem. In\naddition, US$500 million from 2Way World and Indonesian partners for\ncollaboration in the beauty and aesthetics sector.<\/p>\n<p>The remainder consists of investments in a number of geothermal\nprojects in the country. \u201cIndeed, for renewable new energy, Japan has a\nvery strong interest,\u201d stated Rosan Roeslani.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Japan is one of the five countries that make a\nsignificant contribution to foreign capital investment in Indonesia.
