Japanese found dead in hotel<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Police are still investigating the case of a
\nJapanese man who was found dead in a room at Hotel Indonesia on
\nJl. M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.<\/p>\n
City police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam said on
\nSunday that the police were not sure whether Wasao Fukumoto was
\nmurdered or not.<\/p>\n
Fukumoto, a jewelry trader, was reportedly found dead with
\nsevere stab wounds to his stomach and chest by a room boy of the
\nhotel.<\/p>\n
The hotel employee opened the room, as the victim, who had
\nstayed in the hotel for a week, had not left the room since
\nFriday.<\/p>\n
"We are still investigating the cause of death of the
\nJapanese. We have not concluded whether he was murdered or he
\ndied due to illness since he was already old, 73 years of age,"
\nAnton told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
Police sources rejected the possibility that Fukumoto was
\nrobbed since no belongings of the victim were missing when the
\nbody was found.<\/p>\n
Three hotel employees have been questioned related to the
\ncase. Police will also question Fukumoto's local business
\npartners here.<\/p>\n
Fukumoto's body was still at the Cipto Mangunkusumo General
\nHospital's morgue on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Morgue' employee, Suminto, said, according to the morgue's
\nrecords, Fukumoto died due to stab wounds.<\/p>\n
"We are still waiting for the victim's relatives to take the
\nbody," Suminto said on Sunday. (jun)<\/p>",
