        "content": "<p>Japan welcomes IMF's RI program<\/p>\n<p>TOKYO (Reuters): Japan welcomes a decision by the executive<br>\nboard of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to approve an<br>\namended economic program for Indonesia, Japanese Finance Minister<br>\nHikaru Matsunaga said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"I am confident that steady implementation of this agreement<br>\nwould help Indonesia restore confidence of international markets<br>\nin her economy, and overcome her economic difficulties,\"<br>\nMatsunaga said in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>The IMF's executive board on Monday decided to release a<br>\nbalance-of-payments loan of nearly US$1 billion. Further payments<br>\nof about $1 billion will be made in June and July after an IMF<br>\nteam reviews continued progress in reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Matsunaga also said in the statement that Japan will<br>\nimmediately release an already-announced 20 billion yen in<br>\nOfficial Development Assistance (ODA) loans to Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the ODA loans, Japan will also immediately<br>\ndisburse $2 billion in aid to Indonesia.<\/p>",
