Jamsostek covers dengue sufferers<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: State-owned PT Jamsostek will cover the medical cost
\nof workers and their families infected by dengue fever since the
\nepidemic was declared a national disaster.<\/p>\n
Workers registered with Jamsostek and their family members
\nsuffering from the sometimes fatal ailment would be allowed to
\nstay in second class rooms at state-run hospitals or third class
\nin private hospitals.<\/p>\n
\"Workers are required to show only their membership cards in
\nJamsostek and they are free to enter any hospitals in the areas
\nwhere they reside,\" Jamsostek president Achmad Djunaidi said here
\non Thursday.<\/p>\n
He explained that many workers and their families had been
\ninfected with the mosquito-borne disease, but many were rejected
\nby hospitals for lack of money or insurance.<\/p>\n
\"Hospitals should not reject dengue patients who are members
\nof Jamsostek because their medical costs will be fully covered by
