Jambi City (ANTARA) - Jambi Governor Al Haris emphasised that\nreligious harmony and the harmonious coexistence of different faiths are\nthe primary assets for driving the acceleration of regional\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n
\u201cJambi is a region where religious life is excellent and interfaith\nrelations are harmonious. The conducive condition of Jambi,\ncharacterised by mutual respect between religious communities, is our\ncapital for building the province,\u201d said Al Haris during a gathering of\ninterfaith leaders with the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Romo\nH.R. Muhammad Syafi\u2019i, at the Jambi Provincial Ministry of Religious\nAffairs Hall on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He expressed that the sense of kinship and togetherness among\nreligious communities in the region is deeply felt. He believes that by\nmaintaining such harmony, more parties will be encouraged to contribute\nactively to the development of Jambi Province.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Romo H.R. Muhammad Syafi\u2019i,\nstated that strengthening relationships with interfaith leaders is vital\nin supporting the success of national development.<\/p>\n
Romo Syafi\u2019i emphasised the importance of maintaining religious\nharmony based on a correct understanding of one\u2019s respective religious\nteachings, as all recognised religions in Indonesia fundamentally teach\nunity and harmony.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere should be no mutual suspicion among religious followers. If\nthere are words or provocations that damage harmony, we must ensure they\ndo not stem from religious teachings, but rather from the agendas of\ncertain preachers or intellectual actors,\u201d Romo Syafi\u2019i asserted.<\/p>\n
In addition to urging the public not to be easily provoked, he also\ninvited religious and community leaders to respond wisely to various\ndiscourses regarding government programmes on social media.<\/p>\n
He requested that the public should not immediately dismiss the\npositive value of a government programme simply because of technical\nshortcomings in its field implementation.<\/p>\n
