        "content": "<p>Jambi anticipates drug trafficker's trial<\/p>\n<p>JAMBI: Jambi Governor Zulkifli Nurdin said on Friday that he<br>\nwas awaiting the trial of 54-year-old Acong, who is charged with<br>\ntrafficking 1,000 ecstasy pills in the city, adding that this<br>\nwould be a test of law enforcers' determination to fight the war<br>\nagainst narcotics.<\/p>\n<p>\"Acong's case will be used to measure the law enforcers'<br>\nseriousness in the fight against illegal drugs and banned<br>\nsubstances in the province,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Acong is being interrogated by police and is locally known as<br>\nthe \"ecstasy king\" for his alleged role in supplying the illegal<br>\ndrug to the province.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said prosecutors and judges had no reason to hand<br>\ndown a light sentence because the police had strong evidence to<br>\nback accusations that the suspect violated the law on narcotics<br>\nand psychotropic drugs.<\/p>\n<p>He said he would support the death penalty should the judges<br>\nhand down the maximum punishment to Acong, considering the large<br>\nnumber of ecstasy pills found on him by officers. --Antara<\/p>",
