        "content": "<p>JAMA to extend auto-parts training<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association Inc.<br>\n(JAMA) is to extend its technical assistance to the auto-parts<br>\nindustry in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have received a request from the Indonesian government for<br>\nJAMA to extend our auto-parts training program,\" JAMA head for<br>\nSoutheast Asia Hiroyuki Nakamura told reporters on Thursday. \"We<br>\nwill start the program again in October this year.\"<\/p>\n<p>JAMA has sent auto-parts experts to small and medium-sized<br>\nauto parts companies supplying Japan's automakers in Thailand,<br>\nthe Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia from August 2001 until<br>\nthe end of this month.<\/p>\n<p>Nakamura said that the objective of the training was to push<br>\ntechnology transfer in the auto parts industry, thereby<br>\nstrengthening the automotive industry.<\/p>\n<p>In Indonesia, the program has been conducted in 25 companies<br>\nwith 16 experts training engineers.<\/p>\n<p>Nakamura hoped the government would also appoint some<br>\nIndonesian engineers to assist in the program to make the<br>\ntechnology transfer faster. -JP<\/p>",
