The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) office for DKI Jakarta recorded an\nannual inflation rate of 2.5 per cent in July 2026, driven by the\ntransport group which experienced inflation of 5.3 per cent,\ncontributing 0.71 per cent to the overall rate.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main contributor to annual inflation in July 2026 was the\ntransport group, which contributed 0.71 per cent to inflation, with the\nprimary commodity being petrol,\u201d said Head of BPS DKI Jakarta Kadarmanto\nin Jakarta on Monday, 3 August 2026.<\/p>\n
He stated that other expenditure groups also experienced relatively\nhigh year-on-year inflation, namely personal care and other services.\nThis group recorded inflation of 8.39 per cent, contributing 0.6 per\ncent. Inflation in this group was driven by gold jewellery.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarlier this year, there was an extraordinary increase in gold\nprices, although over the last four months there has been a decline in\ngold commodity prices,\u201d Kadarmanto noted.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the main commodities contributing to annual inflation in\nJuly 2026 were gold jewellery with an inflation contribution of 0.47 per\ncent, followed by petrol at 0.46 per cent, air transport fares at 0.16\nper cent, rice at 0.12 per cent, and cooking oil at 0.1 per cent.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, DKI Jakarta experienced a monthly deflation of\n0.15 per cent in July 2026, primarily contributed by the food,\nbeverages, and tobacco group with a share of 0.21 per cent.
