        "content": "<p>Jakartans rushing to mental hospitals<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The number of mentally ill people in Jakarta has<br>\nrisen dramatically over the past month, so much so that four<br>\ngovernment mental institutions in Jakarta were overwhelmed, Tempo<br>\nInteraktif reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\"This month alone we have admitted 118 mentally ill people,<br>\ntoday eight more were admitted,\" Bambang Sugeng, head of the<br>\ncity's Mental Guidance Social Welfare Agency, said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the usual number of people admitted to the mental<br>\ninstitutions was five to six persons per day, but that has risen<br>\nto between 10 to 20 people a day during the past month.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the government's institutions in Cengkareng,<br>\nWest Jakarta; Cipayung, East Jakarta; Daan Mogot, West Jakarta;<br>\nand Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, could no longer support the<br>\nincreasing number of mentally ill people. --JP<\/p>",
