Jakarta to hold auto expo<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Amid increasing car sales, an automotive and
\naccessories expo will be held on June 8 through June 11 at the
\nJakarta Convention Hall.<\/p>\n
The organizer, PT Propamer International Organizer, said on
\nFriday that about 60 authorized car dealers, general car
\nimporters, car accessories and insurance companies were expected
\nto exhibit at the event.<\/p>\n
The company expects at least 100,000 people to visit the four-
\nday event and about Rp 100 billion (US$11.7 million) worth of
\ntransactions to take place.<\/p>\n
Several popular brands of cars such as Mercedes-Benz,
\nVolkswagen, Cherokee, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Timor, including
\ntheir imported versions, will be displayed at the expo.<\/p>\n
A number of car exhibitions have been held in Jakarta since
\nearly January this year as the country's automotive market is
\nshowing signs of recovery after being severely hit by the
\neconomic crisis in 1998 and 1999. (07)<\/p>",
