        "content": "<p>Schools in Jakarta are allowed to implement distance learning (PJJ)\non Tuesday (18\/8) tomorrow. This policy is still part of efforts to\nenliven and give meaning to Indonesia\u2019s Independence Day.<\/p>\n<p>This is stated in Circular Number 87\/SE\/2026 concerning the\nImplementation of Flexible Work Duties for Civil Servants and Distance\nLearning in the Context of Celebrating and Giving Meaning to\nIndependence within the Jakarta Provincial Education Office.<\/p>\n<p>Special Staff to the Governor for Public Communication, Chico Hakim,\nemphasised that the implementation of PJJ on 18 August is not an\nobligation for schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeads of state and private education units may implement distance\nlearning on Tuesday, 18 August 2026,\u201d said Chico when confirmed on\nMonday (17\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Chico said the decision to implement PJJ lies with each education\nunit. Schools must also ensure that teaching and learning activities\nproceed according to the learning plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo further enliven celebration activities in the community and give\nmeaning to independence day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the policy is not related to circulating\ndemonstration issues. The implementation of PJJ is part of efforts to\nenliven independence celebrations and is in line with the appeal of the\nMinister of State Secretary.<\/p>\n<p>In the circular, education units that implement PJJ are asked to pay\nattention to a number of provisions.
