        "content": "<p>The Jakarta Provincial Government is accelerating flood control\ninfrastructure development by constructing 12 new water management\npumping stations by 2027. The projects are spread across flood-prone\nareas, from Cilincing in North Jakarta to Cengkareng in West\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Water Resources Agency (SDA) Head Ika Agustin stated the construction\naims to strengthen flood control amid extreme rainfall trends. She noted\nthat Jakarta\u2019s current flood infrastructure is designed for rainfall of\n100-150mm only.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJakarta\u2019s flood infrastructure is effective for 100-150mm of\nrainfall, but higher rainfall requires greater infrastructure capacity,\u201d\nAgustin said when contacted on Thursday, 28 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Agustin explained that the new pumping stations will be built in\nphases from 2025 to 2027 under the JakTirta and National Capital\nIntegrated Coastal Development (NCICD) projects. The focus is on\nstrengthening polder systems, enhancing drainage capacity, and speeding\nup floodwater receding in vulnerable areas.<\/p>\n<p>The 12 new and upgraded pumping systems include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><p>Construction of Bulak Cabe Pumping Station with a capacity of 24\ncubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Pegangsaan Dua Pumping Station with a capacity of\n9 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Cilincing KBN Pumping Station with a capacity of\n16 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Warung Jengkol Pumping Station with a capacity of\n2 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Kampung Sawah and Rawa Terate Pumping Station\nwith a capacity of 6 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Kayu Putih and Rawa Terate Pumping Station with a\ncapacity of 15 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Upgrade of Ancol Pumping Station to 25 cubic metres per\nsecond.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Upgrade of IKIP Pumping Station to 6 cubic metres per\nsecond.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Cempaka Putih Pumping Station with a capacity of\n14 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Cengkareng Pumping Station with a capacity of 12\ncubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Mangga Raya Greenville Pumping Station with a\ncapacity of 4.5 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Construction of Daan Mogot Pumping Station (Depag, KM 13, KM\n13.5) with a capacity of 23 cubic metres per second.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Jakarta Provincial Government is also upgrading existing pumping\nstations in several areas, with some projects targeted for completion by\nend-2027.<\/p>\n<p>The government is constructing and upgrading water management systems\nfor IKIP Pumping Station (6 cubic metres per second), Cempaka Putih\nPumping Station (14 cubic metres per second), Cengkareng Pumping Station\n(12 cubic metres per second), Mangga Raya Greenville Pumping Station\n(4.5 cubic metres per second), and Daan Mogot Pumping Station (Depag, KM\n13, KM 13.5) with a capacity of 23 cubic metres per second.<\/p>\n<p>Besides pumping stations, the Water Resources Agency is improving\nriver and canal infrastructure, constructing reservoirs and dams, and\nnormalising rivers at priority sites including Ciliwung River, Krukut\nRiver, and Cakung Lama River.<\/p>\n<p>According to data as of 18 May 2026, the Jakarta Provincial\nGovernment currently has 683 stationary pumps across 246 locations and\n540 mobile pumps spread across five administrative cities and the\nThousand Islands Regency to accelerate flood management,\u201d she added.<\/p>",
