        "content": "<p>Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government is optimising the use of\ndigital technology, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) in urban\ngovernance as part of Jakarta\u2019s transformation into a competitive,\ninclusive, and sustainable global city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cData, digital technology, and AI are now crucial factors in\ndetermining the competitiveness of a nation and its cities. As the\nnational economic centre, Jakarta has a responsibility to drive this\ntransformation,\u201d said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Indonesia Summit 2026, \u201cThe Next Us: Indonesia\u2019s Leap\nin the Algorithmic Age\u201d in South Jakarta on Thursday, Pramono stated\nthat a city\u2019s competitiveness in the algorithmic era no longer relies\nsolely on physical infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p>A city must also be capable of preparing talent, encouraging\ninnovation, and utilising technology to strengthen public services and\npolicy effectiveness. \u201cTherefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government\ncontinues to push for Jakarta to become an increasingly competitive,\ninclusive, and sustainable global city,\u201d Pramono added.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he noted that Jakarta\u2019s position as a global city is\nshowing a positive trend. According to the Global City Index, Jakarta\u2019s\nranking has risen from 74th to 71st.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement, he said, serves as a stepping stone to strengthen\nJakarta\u2019s competitiveness towards the target of reaching the top 20\nglobal cities by 2045. To achieve this target, the Jakarta Provincial\nGovernment is preparing the Jakarta RISE#20 initiative as a framework\nfor the transformation towards a global city.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative serves as a reference to ensure that development\nprogrammes, service innovations, and the strengthening of Jakarta\u2019s\ncompetitiveness are more directed. \u201cThis initiative functions as a\nroadmap to strengthen the foundations of development, encourage\ninnovative and inclusive growth, and enhance Jakarta\u2019s role at both\nregional and global levels,\u201d Pramono explained.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Pramono outlined that the implementation of\ntechnology is being carried out gradually in sectors that directly touch\nthe needs of citizens, ranging from mobility, public services, and\nspatial data management to strengthening the local economy and the\nRegional Inflation Control Team (TPID).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the use of technology and AI is being applied in urban\ngovernance through systems such as the Intelligent Traffic Control\nSystem, JAKI, Jakarta Satu, the digitalisation of traditional markets\nand MSMEs, as well as the use of technology by the TPID to maintain\nprice stability and Jakarta\u2019s inflation, which was recorded at 2.49 per\ncent annually in May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In the field of flood mitigation, the Jakarta Provincial Government\nis optimising the use of CCTV cameras connected to the Jakarta\nDepartment of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics. This system\ncan be monitored by the public via the official website\nwww.pantaubanjir.com and serves as part of the support for field-based\ndecision-making.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis integrated system serves as the backbone for the Water\nResources Department\u2019s command centre to make fast and accurate\ndecisions regarding the operation of floodgates and pumps in real-time,\nespecially when the capital enters the rainy season alert status,\u201d\nPramono revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond technological strengthening, he emphasised that Jakarta\u2019s\ntransformation must also ensure increasingly inclusive access to public\nservices. In the transport sector, he added, Jakarta\u2019s public transport\nconnectivity has now reached 93 per cent and continues to be developed\nto be more accessible for people with disabilities, the elderly, and\nvulnerable groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModes such as the MRT and Transjakarta continue to be developed to\nbe friendly to people with disabilities and the elderly,\u201d Pramono\nconcluded.<\/p>",
