        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have arrested 103\nsuspects involved in street crimes in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta\nMetropolitan Police, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated in a press\nconference in Jakarta on Friday that the suspects were apprehended\nfollowing investigations into 171 police reports filed at the Jakarta\nMetropolitan Police and its precincts.<\/p>\n<p>The details of the cases are as follows: 86 cases of aggravated\ntheft, 10 cases of theft with violence, and 75 cases of vehicle\ntheft.<\/p>\n<p>Iman stated that these firm measures were taken as a form of the\nNational Police\u2019s commitment to providing a sense of security and\nensuring the conduciveness of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police\u2019s\njurisdiction from all forms of public disorder, thuggery, and street\ncrime.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Iman mentioned that several pieces of evidence were\nseized from the suspects, including 53 motorcycles, 4 cars, 8 bladed\nweapons, 5 firearms, 27 bullets, 65 mobile phones, and several CCTV\nrecordings from various crime scenes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the investigations we have conducted on criminal incidents\nare the result of digital information from social media and the Jakarta\nMetropolitan Police\u2019s rapid response in an effort to address various\nlegal issues in the community,\u201d said Iman.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are currently being held at the Jakarta Metropolitan\nPolice detention center and are being charged with several articles,\nnamely Article 477 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of\naggravated theft, Article 479 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime\nof theft with violence, Article 307 of the Criminal Code regarding the\ncrime of carrying sharp weapons without a permit in public, and Article\n591 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of receiving stolen\ngoods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith a minimum prison sentence of 4 years and a maximum prison\nsentence of 10 years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Iman also appealed to the public to work together to provide\ninformation on any crimes or criminal acts in their environment so that\nthe Jakarta Metropolitan Police can immediately take swift action.<\/p>",
