        "content": "<p>Jakarta is on alert for tidal flooding until the end of May 2026,\nwith several northern coastal areas at risk of impact. Jakarta\u2019s tidal\nflooding is forecasted to occur in two periods: 14\u201322 May and 28\u201331 May\n2026. Based on modelling, the high tide is estimated to reach 0.69\nmetres above mean sea level (MSL). Areas at potential risk include\nTanjung Kamal Muara, Muara Angke, Muara Baru, Pasar Ikan, Ancol Marina\nand JIS, Tanjung Priok, Kali Baru, and Marunda. The modelling considers\nvarious factors, such as land subsidence, sea level rise, coastal\nelevation, and tides in Jakarta Bay. However, conditions may still\nchange depending on on-site dynamics, such as embankment construction,\npotential leaks, and non-tidal factors like sea surface anomalies and\nhigh waves due to wind. Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Agency\n(SDA), Ika Agustin Ningrum, stated that preparedness is focused on pump\noperations and field monitoring. \u201cThe DKI Jakarta Provincial Water\nResources Agency, through the North Jakarta SDA Sub-Agency, continues to\nprepare and operate pumps as well as various anticipatory measures for\npotential tidal flooding,\u201d said Ika on Tuesday (5\/5\/2026), quoted from\nthe official DKI Provincial Government website. A total of 171\nstationary pump units spread across 56 points in North Jakarta are on\nstandby to anticipate inundation. In addition, mobile pumps are prepared\nto reach areas not served by fixed pumps.
