We all sense that Jakarta is back to normal after the July 27
\nsurprise, which, is known as Sabtu Kelabu (gray Saturday). In the
\naftermath, security has been increased in strategic, or, violence
\nprone locations where security men, armed to the teeth, are
\nwatching the public in case of suspicious movements.<\/p>\n
If we were to look back, Jakarta citizens had a similar jolt
\nsometime ago when the country became engulfed in a crime wave at
\nthe hand of murderers and gangsters. Many victims fell because
\nof these cold blooded murderers. Among the victims were a member
\nof the armed forces, common people. Since then the war against
\ngangsters began throughout Indonesia. Those happenings put a
\nheavy toll on the authorities at the time.<\/p>\n
Although the security forces are being withdrawn in stages at
\nthe moment, the impact on the security situation can still be
\nfelt. Especially gangsters have become a constant threat to the
\npublic.<\/p>\n
We can imagine, if Jakarta, at times, were to be placed under
\nthe watchful eyes of security forces as recently, gangsters would
\nthink twice before embarking on their deadly missions. And
\nJakarta would surely be a safer place.<\/p>\n
