        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has\nlaunched the \u201cMudik ke Jakarta\u201d programme to attract tourists to the\ncapital during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period.<\/p>\n<p>The programme offers various promotions ranging from shopping\ndiscounts of up to 80 percent at major shopping malls to tourism\npackages covering several popular destinations in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the programme is themed \u201cJakarta\nSerene, Holiday and Shopping Fun, Profits Come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, although millions of Jakarta residents are expected\nto return to their hometowns during the Eid holiday, the capital still\nholds appeal for tourists who wish to enjoy their holidays in a quieter\natmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Jakarta Holiday Homecoming is a new programme and we hope the\npublic can enjoy it,\u201d said Pramono after a leadership meeting at Jakarta\nCity Hall on Tuesday (10 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>The discount programme will run from 4 March to 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeveral shopping centres will offer discounts of up to 80 percent.\nSo there will be 80 percent discounts, 70 percent discounts, Ramadan\nsales and so on starting from 4 March to 31 March,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>\n<p>The Provincial Government hopes the promotions will attract tourists\nwhilst also boosting economic activity during the Ramadan and Eid\nholiday period.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta\u2019s Assistant for Economics and Finance, Suharini Eliawati,\nsaid the tourism packages have been prepared in collaboration with\ntravel agent associations.<\/p>\n<p>Several destinations included in the tourism packages include Mini\nIndonesia Park (TMII), Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, and Ragunan Zoo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are collaborating with associations such as the Indonesian Travel\nAgents Association to create bundled tourism packages at TMII, Ragunan,\nand Ancol,\u201d said Eliawati.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the tourism packages are expected to make it easier\nfor tourists to enjoy various destinations in Jakarta during the Eid\nholiday period.<\/p>",
