Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta East City Government held a
socialisation session for the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB)
to provide knowledge on school registration mechanisms, particularly
noting the availability of quotas in 23 free private schools. “This
socialisation is held to give a broader understanding to the public,
especially parents of prospective students, regarding the school
registration mechanism for the 2026 academic year. Moreover, there are
still 23 free private schools available,” said Deputy Mayor of Jakarta
East, Kusmanto, at the Sri Gunting–Pola Room, Jakarta East City Hall, on
Wednesday. The socialisation event was attended by around 1,000
participants online, comprising neighbourhood association (RT/RW)
representatives, Village Consultative Agency (LMK) members, and the
general public. Meanwhile, offline participants included sub-district
heads, district heads, and relevant Regional Device Units (UPD) within
the Jakarta East City Government. “This is a routine annual activity. We
hope the public can understand all SPMB stages well, so the registration
process runs smoothly, transparently, and without causing confusion,”
Kusmanto explained. During the presentation, it was explained that the
2026 SPMB implementation will still use four main pathways: prestasi
pathway, afirmasi pathway, domisili pathway, and mutasi pathway. The
entire registration process can be done online through the official
website https://spmb.jakarta.go.id. The SPMB schedule is divided into
three phases. The first phase registration opens on 15, 17–18 June 2026,
with results announced on 18 June, and re-registration on 19–20 June.
Then, the second phase registration runs from 22–24 June 2026,
announcement on 24 June, and re-registration on 25–26 June. Finally, the
third or final phase is held on 6–7 July 2026, with announcement on 7
July and re-registration on 8–9 July 2026. Furthermore, Kusmanto stated
that the Jakarta East City Government is committed to guaranteeing
education access for all residents. For prospective students who do not
pass the selection for public schools, the city government will provide
alternatives through the free private school programme. There are 23
free private schools available, with 12 schools in the Jakarta East I
region and 11 in Jakarta East II. This programme is expected to serve as
a solution for the limited capacity of public schools. Registration for
the first wave of free private schools opens from 15–30 June 2026, with
announcements on 2–3 July 2026. The second wave opens on 8–9 July 2026,
announcement on 9 July, and re-registration on 10 July 2026. Through
this socialisation, Kusmanto hopes that all community elements can
comprehensively understand the SPMB flow and provisions. The government
also emphasises the importance of transparency and equitable education
access for all residents. “This free private school programme is one
form of the local government’s commitment to ensuring no child is left
behind in obtaining education services,” said Kusmanto. With this
socialisation, it is hoped that the 2026 new student admission process
in Jakarta East can run more orderly, transparently, and provide
convenience for the public.
",
