        "content": "<p>Jakarta Deputy Speaker Basri Baco has called on all elements of\nsociety to jointly maintain the security and order of the capital amid\ngrowing concerns over the potential for demonstrations to turn violent.\nThe response follows the phenomenon of several shopping centres in\nJakarta installing higher security fences due to fears of large-scale\nmass action.<\/p>\n<p>Baco believes the extra protective measures taken by mall management\nshould not become a habit if the public and protest participants can\nexpress their opinions peacefully. He agreed with the view of Jakarta\nGovernor Pramono Anung, who stated that the installation of high fences\nat commercial facilities does not reflect an ideal city situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease express your opinions, as it is the right of every citizen.\nBut do not let the expression of aspirations be carried out in ways that\ndamage public facilities, injure others, or even take lives. Jakarta\nmust remain a safe home for everyone,\u201d Baco said.<\/p>\n<p>Baco reminded that the freedom to express opinions in public is\nguaranteed by Law Number 9 of 1998. However, its implementation must be\ncarried out responsibly without sacrificing public safety and damaging\npublic facilities.
