        "content": "<p>The DPRD of DKI Jakarta Province has approved the draft regional\nregulation (Raperda) on the Implementation of the Food System and the\nRaperda on Environmental Protection and Management (RPPLH) to be enacted\nas regional regulations (Perda).<\/p>\n<p>With this approval, the draft regulations will be submitted to the\ngovernor for follow-up, in accordance with prevailing laws and\nregulations, said DPRD DKI Jakarta Chairman Suhud Alynudin during a\nplenary session in Jakarta on Wednesday. He expressed hope that the\nGovernor of DKI Jakarta would consider the suggestions and expectations\nconveyed by the DPRD regarding both draft regulations.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, the Chairman of the DPRD DKI Jakarta Regional\nRegulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda), Abdul Aziz, confirmed that the\ntwo draft regulations do not conflict with the public interest,\nmorality, or higher laws and regulations. Every result of the\nfacilitation by the Ministry of Home Affairs has been scrutinised\nproportionally while maintaining the substance agreed upon by the DPRD\nand the executive, Aziz stated.<\/p>\n<p>The stages included the governor\u2019s explanation, general submissions\nfrom factions, the governor\u2019s response to the factions\u2019 general views,\npublic hearing meetings, article-by-article discussions, final review\nthrough a joint leadership meeting, facilitation by the Ministry of Home\nAffairs, and refinement of the facilitation results.<\/p>\n<p>Aziz noted that the Raperda on the Implementation of the Food System\nserves as an important foundation for realising food resilience,\nsovereignty, and justice. The primary focus of the draft regulation\nincludes halal, healthy, nutritious, and affordable food, protection of\nvulnerable groups, strengthening of food reserves and regionally owned\nenterprises (BUMD) in the food sector, inter-regional cooperation, food\nwaste management, as well as supervisory data and accountability.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the RPPLH serves as the direction for Jakarta\u2019s\nenvironmental policy for the next 30 years. This document must become an\necological boundary for development and spatial planning so as not to\nexceed the carrying capacity and environmental capacity, while\nprotecting residents and safeguarding their right to a good and healthy\nenvironment, Aziz emphasised.<\/p>",
