This policy is expected to encourage the\ngrowth of national film production while attracting more creative\nindustry activities to the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Lusiana\nHerawati, stated that the incentives to support the film industry are\ncurrently in the preparation stage, both in terms of regulations and\ninstitutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, as part of supporting Jakarta Cinema City, we are preparing\nthe regulations along with finalising the institutions,\u201d said Lusiana at\nJakarta City Hall on Friday (17\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>She explained that these tax incentives will later be given to film\nproducers as a stimulus to increase domestic film production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf everything is ready, we will implement incentives for film\nproducers so that domestic film production can develop further,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>This policy forms part of the Jakarta Provincial Government\u2019s\nstrategy to develop the creative economy sector, particularly the film\nindustry, which is considered to have great potential for the city\u2019s\neconomy.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government held a focus group\ndiscussion (FGD) on incentives for the film industry on Tuesday (10\/3)\nat Jakarta City Hall. This event is part of the Provincial Government\u2019s\nefforts to strengthen the creative industry ecosystem, particularly the\nfilm sector, while promoting Jakarta as a city friendly to film\nproduction.<\/p>\n<p>The FGD was directly led by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano\nKarno, and attended by Jakarta Provincial Government officials as well\nas national film industry players.
