        "content": "<p>The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting the completion of\nwaste pile clearance in the Muara Angke area, North Jakarta, by Saturday\n(6\/6). As of Friday (5\/6), the progress of the handling carried out by\nthe DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) has reached 85 to 90 percent.\nThe Assistant for Development and Environment of the DKI Jakarta\nRegional Secretary, Afan Adriansyah Idris, said that the waste cleanup\nhas been ongoing since Wednesday (3\/6) involving hundreds of personnel\nand a number of heavy equipment units. \u201cThe cleanup is being accelerated\nso that all the accumulated waste at Muara Angke can be dealt with this\nweekend,\u201d said Afan on Friday (5\/6). To speed up the handling process,\nthe DKI Provincial Government deployed 100 field officers, two\namphibious excavators, and three waste transport vessels. The entire\nfleet is focused on transporting and processing the waste that has piled\nup in the coastal area. After the cleanup process is complete, the DKI\nEnvironment Agency will conduct regular monitoring and inspections to\nensure that waste accumulation does not occur again at the same\nlocation. Afan explained that one of the main challenges in handling\nwaste in coastal areas is waste shipments from upstream areas carried by\nriver currents until they flow into the sea. Therefore, waste control is\nnot only carried out in Muara Angke but also from upstream areas.\nAccording to him, the DKI Provincial Government continues to optimise\nthe operation of waste barriers and filters at a number of points along\nriver flows to hold back waste so that it is not carried to coastal\nareas. In addition to carrying out cleanups, the DKI Provincial\nGovernment is also strengthening the waste management system from\nupstream to downstream to reduce the volume of waste entering water\nbodies and the sea.
