        "content": "<p>Jafco offers $2m for IT firms<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Jafco investment of Asia Pacific (JafcoAsia), a<br>\nJapanese venture capital company, is offering a total of US$2<br>\nmillion in seed capital for local small and medium enterprises in<br>\nthe information technology (IT) industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore-based company launched on Thursday its e-<br>\nIncubator Program in cooperation with PT IBM Indonesia, which<br>\nwill provide the expertise and technology.<\/p>\n<p>JafcoAsia director Bradley Chew told a media conference that<br>\nthe $2 million fund would be divided equally among five startup<br>\ncompanies to help develop the IT industry in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>IBM Indonesia President Betti S. Alisjahbana said the company<br>\nhad already received several applicants for the program.<\/p>\n<p>Approval would be based on three criteria: the kind of<br>\ntechnology needed, capital, and business feasibility, she said.<\/p>\n<p>IBM on Thursday held a one-day e-symposium to exhibit its<br>\nlatest products, software and service solutions.
