        "content": "<p>ITS to help build warships<\/p>\n<p>SURABAYA, East Java: Shipbuilding company PT PAL Indonesia<br>\nwill cooperate with the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) to<br>\nbuild Corvet-type warships using technology similar to Stealth<br>\naircraft technology.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was disclosed on Tuesday by the institute's rector,<br>\nMohammad Nuh, who said a memorandum of understanding on the<br>\ncooperation would be signed on Nov. 10.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation was conceived under a Ministry of Defense<br>\nprogram, which requires PAL to cooperate with the country's<br>\nuniversities to build the warships.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the institute, the company is also cooperating with<br>\nthe Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Gadjah Mada<br>\nUniversity (UGM) in Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are just dealing with the ships' design and geometry,<br>\nwhile its noise, thermal and electromagnetic characteristics will<br>\nbe handled by the ITB and the UGM,\" Nuh said. -- JP<\/p>",
