PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as
InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), has officially
regained its status as a Persero, effective 10 June 2026. This
strengthening of its status marks a significant moment for ITDC to
reinforce its role as a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) with a strategic
mandate to develop world-class tourism destinations, professionally
manage state assets, and drive investment and economic growth through
the tourism sector. The change formalises the use of the official
nomenclature PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) in all
business activities, correspondence, and company documents. This step
aligns with government policies on BUMN governance while sharpening
ITDC’s identity and strategic mandate as a national tourism area
developer and manager. ITDC Acting President Director Ahmad Fajar stated
that the return to Persero status strengthens the company’s contribution
to national development through quality, sustainable, and globally
competitive tourism. He explained that this status reinforces ITDC’s
role as a BUMN with a strategic mandate to develop world-class
destinations while optimising state asset management through a
professional and sustainable approach. ‘With a strong governance
foundation, we will continue to encourage the creation of areas that can
attract investment, generate economic added value, open business
opportunities, and provide sustainable benefits for communities and
regions,’ Ahmad said in a statement on Tuesday. In executing this
mandate, ITDC develops a business model integrating area planning,
infrastructure development, asset management, investment development,
and the creation of a tourism ecosystem that supports regional and
national economic growth. As part of the BUMN Tourism and Support
Holding, InJourney, ITDC plays a strategic role as master developer and
asset manager for national tourism destinations. Currently, ITDC manages
assets and develops three premier tourism areas: The Nusa Dua in Bali
covering approximately 350 hectares, The Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara
covering approximately 1,175 hectares, and The Golo Mori in East Nusa
Tenggara covering approximately 20 hectares. Ahmad noted that the
strengthened Persero status aligns with the ongoing BUMN transformation
agenda under Danantara Indonesia, which emphasises creating more
professional, adaptive companies capable of greater contributions to
national development. The change is based on Law Number 16 of 2026
concerning the Fourth Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 on State-Owned
Enterprises, and was established through a Shareholders’ Resolution
dated 20 April 2026, approving the name change to PT Pengembangan
Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero). This decision was formalised in a Deed
of Shareholders’ Resolution Statement Number 53 dated 20 May 2026, and
received approval from the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia
through Decree Number AHU-0037365.AH.01.02.TAHUN 2026 dated 10 June
2026. With its restored Persero status, ITDC is optimistic about
strengthening its role as a catalyst for national tourism development
through professional asset management, integrated area development, and
the creation of a conducive investment climate. This enhanced role is
expected to accelerate quality tourism sector development while
contributing more significantly to national economic growth. Going
forward, ITDC will continue to prioritise the implementation of Good
Corporate Governance principles, integrated risk management, innovation,
and regulatory compliance as the foundation for all area development,
aiming to create sustainable added value for the state, communities, and
all stakeholders through globally competitive, inclusive, and
sustainable destinations.
",
