        "content": "<p>The development of tourist destinations is not only focused on\neconomic growth but also on environmental harmony and improving the\nlong-term quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>Central Lombok (ANTARA) - InJourney Tourism Development Corporation\n(ITDC) continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing\nsustainability principles through the development of green open spaces\nin the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB),\namidst the rapid development of the tourism sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe development of tourist destinations is not only focused on\neconomic growth, but also on environmental harmony and improving the\nlong-term quality of life,\u201d said ITDC Commercial and Marketing Director\nFebrina Mediana in Central Lombok, Friday.<\/p>\n<p>She said that green open spaces play a strategic role in improving\nthe quality of tourist destinations while strengthening the\ncompetitiveness of tourist areas.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, green open spaces are not just a landscape element,\nbut are part of an ecological infrastructure that contributes\nsignificantly to improving air quality, controlling regional\ntemperatures, and strengthening resilience to climate change.<\/p>\n<p>She said that through the development of nature-based tourism\nexperiences, such as outdoor activities, wellness, and recreation in\ncoastal areas, green open spaces become an important part of promoting a\nhealthy lifestyle, strengthening human connection with nature, and\nimproving the overall quality of tourism experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis approach also reaffirms ITDC\u2019s commitment to maintaining the\nsustainability of destinations and strengthening the competitiveness of\nIndonesian tourism in the long term,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She said that in The Mandalika, sustainable tourism development is\nrealised through the management of an area of 1,175 hectares with an\nallocation of green open spaces reaching 363 hectares or about 30\npercent of the total area.<\/p>\n<p>As part of strengthening the coastal ecosystem, more than 10,400\ntrees have been planted throughout 2025 through an environmental\nrehabilitation program.<\/p>\n<p>This effort continues in 2026 with the planting of 15,000 mangrove\ntrees in coastal areas as a strategic step to strengthen natural\nprotection against abrasion while improving the quality of coastal\nhabitats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe development of The Mandalika area also integrates the concept of\ngreen space and blue space, which is a combination of vegetation and\nwater elements such as beaches, lagoons, and conservation areas,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>",
