In response to Mr. Ilhamy Elias' letter on April 10, I need to
\ngive the following clarification:<\/p>\n
1. In 1972, the Islamic Village Foundation invited taklim
\ncouncil members in Jakarta to participate in the acquisition of
\nland in Kelapa Dua village, Curug, Tangerang, in a plan to build
\na pilot project for a settlement area, mainly for Moslems.<\/p>\n
2. In 1976, the foundation persuaded all people who had bought
\na plot of land to start building their houses. Up until 1987,
\nhowever, only 14 members responded to the invitation.<\/p>\n
3. Based on the conditions and objective of the permit by the
\nTangerang regional administration, the Islamic Village Foundation
\nwas obliged to carry out the construction of the infrastructure
\nand houses, according to the site plan legalized by the Tangerang
\nplanning and development board.<\/p>\n
4. The construction of the Islamic Village's infrastructure
\ncould not be carried out by the foundation without a concerted
\ncontribution based on each landowner's plot size.<\/p>\n
5. Until now, 1997, the construction of the infrastructure and
\nhouses has gone through stages I, II, III and IV, in which 696
\nmembers have received their plots of land. The plots of land have
\nbeen given certificates in the name of 433 buyers. There are
\nprospective buyers who have not joined in the program of the
\nconstruction of the infrastructure and houses.<\/p>\n
6. The Islamic Village Foundation has carried out the
\nconstruction of the Villa Ilhami houses and has assigned PT
\nMustika Hadi Asri as the developer for land owned by the Islamic
\nVillage Foundation.<\/p>\n
Members who have ordered plots of land can obtain information
\nfrom the section of land and construction at the Islamic Village
\nFoundation during business hours.<\/p>\n
