        "content": "<p>Bandung \u2014 Ace Hasan Syadzily, chairman general of the Syarif\nHidayatullah Jakarta Islamic University alumni association, has called\nupon all alumni, particularly those from UIN Jakarta, to oversee the\ndevelopment of Islamic higher education in Indonesia. The statement was\nmade during a networking gathering and breaking of fast organised by\nIKALUIN over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRamadhan provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen bonds among\nalumni. This is a space to maintain unity whilst reinforcing our\ncontributions to the campus and society,\u201d said the Lemhanas governor in\nan official statement received on Saturday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that Ramadhan can be leveraged by alumni to deepen\nrelationships and strengthen networks that have been built across\nvarious sectors. Ace remarked that the Ramadhan networking activity has\nbecome an annual tradition bringing together UIN Syarif Hidayatullah\nJakarta alumni from different generations and professional\nbackgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that UIN alumni are now working across various sectors,\nincluding academia, bureaucracy, professional fields, and social\ncommunity work. \u201cAlumni have a moral responsibility to maintain\nrelationships with their alma mater and contribute to the development of\nIslamic higher education,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ace Hasan assessed that Islamic universities face major challenges\namid changing times, particularly concerning technological development,\nresearch strengthening, and increasing global competition among\ninstitutions of higher learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlumni must be part of the solution. We have the experience,\nnetworks, and capacity to help guide the development of Islamic higher\neducation so it becomes increasingly advanced and relevant to\ncontemporary needs,\u201d said the West Java provincial chairman of Golkar\nparty.<\/p>\n<p>He further encouraged alumni to actively provide ideas, support, and\ncollaboration that can strengthen the position of Islamic universities\nat both national and international levels.<\/p>\n<p>The networking agenda was also accompanied by a public discussion\nthemed \u201cThe Direction of Indonesian Islamic Higher Education\u201d, featuring\nAsrorun Ni\u2019am Sholeh, Deputy for Youth Empowerment at the Youth and\nSports Ministry; Najib Burhani, director general of Science and\nTechnology at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and\nTechnology; and Prof Arskal Salim GP, secretary to the director general\nof Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The event also included the distribution of assistance to orphaned\nchildren from the Sahabat Yatim Rawa Mekar Jaya Foundation in South\nTangerang. The programme concluded with a joint breaking of fast and\nnetworking session among alumni, aimed at further strengthening\nconnections.<\/p>",
