        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) will hold an isbat\nsession to officially establish 1 Shawwal 1447 Hijri on Thursday, 19\nMarch 2026, coinciding with 29 Ramadhan 1447 H.<\/p>\n<p>The isbat session is scheduled to take place at the H.M. Rasjidi\nAuditorium, Ministry of Religion headquarters in Jakarta, starting at\n16.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).<\/p>\n<p>The Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of\nReligion, Abu Rokhmad, stated that the auditorium was selected because\nit has recently completed renovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe implementation of the session is based on calculation data and\nverified hilal observation results, and follows a mechanism that is open\nto the public,\u201d said Abu, as quoted from the Ministry of Religion\u2019s\nofficial website on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The isbat session will involve various parties, ranging from\nastronomy experts to representatives of Islamic community\norganisations.<\/p>\n<p>Agencies involved include the Meteorology, Climatology, and\nGeophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Research and Innovation Agency\n(BRIN), planetariums, observatories, and other relevant\ninstitutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Sharia Development at\nthe Ministry of Religion, Arsad Hidayat, added that technical\npreparations are complete, including coordination of hilal monitoring\nacross various regions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a technical standpoint, we are preparing session facilities and\ninfrastructure, the hilal observation reporting system, and coordination\nof hilal monitoring points throughout Indonesia,\u201d said Arsad.<\/p>\n<p>The isbat session will begin with a seminar on hilal position,\nverification of hilal observation reports from various regions, and a\nclosed session before the official announcement by the Minister of\nReligion.<\/p>\n<p>With thorough preparations and involvement of various agencies, the\nisbat session is expected to produce an accurate determination that can\nbe accepted by all Muslims in Indonesia.<\/p>",
