        "content": "<p>Is idealism dying?<\/p>\n<p>From Pikiran Rakyat<\/p>\n<p>On reading Dr. Ruslan Abdulgani's article titled Erosion of<br>\nNationalism in Indonesian Society I feel compelled to express my<br>\nconcern.<\/p>\n<p>The tide of individualism and materialism are constantly<br>\neroding the rock of nationalism and patriotism. It seems that<br>\nindividualistic and materialistic thinking is also affecting<br>\nsocial behavior in our society, thus conflicting with the values<br>\nwe are trying to instill in people.<\/p>\n<p>I am not anti-modernization, nor am I anti-westernization.<br>\nHowever, I do love Indonesia. In view of the existing realities<br>\nthe question that arises in my mind is: Are idealism, nationalism<br>\nand patriotism dying in this beloved country?<\/p>\n<p>I therefore call on Indonesians of the younger generation to<br>\nget to work and to resist the creeping influences of<br>\nwesternization.<\/p>\n<p>SUKADI<\/p>\n<p>Bandung<\/p>",
