It is said that the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency
\n(IBRA) is managed by professionals. However, according to Rizal
\nRamli it is managed by amateurs. Those in charge at IBRA are paid
\nmore than ministers and even the President, yet their performance
\ncontinues to be questioned.<\/p>\n
The deputy chairman of House of Representatives Commission IV,
\nRosyid Hidayat, pointed out the conspiracy to use up the assets
\ncurrently handled by IBRA. Even Vice President Megawati
\nSoekarnoputri has criticized IBRA's lethargic performance.
\nMany of the buildings of liquidated banks are neglected. Some of
\nthe glass, tiles and other items of value in the buildings have
\nbeen stolen. And only 20 percent of the assets under IBRA's
\ncontrol has been sold.<\/p>\n
As reported in the mass media, there are some former debtors
\nwho have paid off their debts yet are still having difficulty
\ngetting back their assets. I question the efficiency and
\neffectiveness of IBRA.<\/p>\n
