        "content": "<p>Irian wood sells well<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Irian Jaya-based company PT Onin Abadi Permai<br>\nhas exported at least 140 metric tons of the local gaharu<br>\n(eaglewood), worth Rp 128 billion (US$ 14.4 million), to<br>\nSingapore, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The company's president, Fachiry J. Robeth, said his company<br>\ncould not yet satisfy the increasing demand from other countries<br>\ndue to limited production.<\/p>\n<p>Onin Abadi buys the wood directly from individual timber<br>\nfarmers and then accumulates it for six months when the quantity<br>\nis enough for export.<\/p>\n<p>Fachiry was quoted by Antara as saying that gaharu's<br>\n\"Kemedangan\" class now sells at Rp 400,000 per kilo, while<br>\n\"Gubal\" class sells at Rp 4 million per kilo.
