        "content": "<p>Istanbul \u2014 Iraq has firmly reiterated its rejection of the use of its\nterritory as a location for launching attacks against neighbouring\ncountries.<\/p>\n<p>This was conveyed by Iraq\u2019s Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed Hussein\nBahr Al-Uloom during his meeting with Kuwait\u2019s Ambassador Mohammad\nHassan Al-Zaman in Baghdad on Monday (9 March).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIraq rejects the logic of war in general, and specifically rejects\nthe use of its territory as a base for targeting neighbouring\ncountries,\u201d Bahr Al-Uloom said in a statement cited from the Iraqi\nForeign Ministry\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed that the Iraqi government is taking all necessary steps\n\u201cto pursue the perpetrators of any actions that harm Iraq\u2019s interests\nand its relations with neighbouring countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mohammad Hassan Al-Zaman expressed his country\u2019s concerns\nregarding Iranian attacks on the Gulf state.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also noted that both sides agreed that Iraq and Kuwait\nare directly affected by the ongoing tensions in the region, and\nemphasised the need for joint efforts to maintain regional security and\nmanage the current crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Tensions in the Middle East have escalated since the United States\nand Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on 28 February.<\/p>\n<p>The military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime\nagainst Teheran has killed more than 1,200 people, including Supreme\nLeader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\n<p>Teheran subsequently conducted retaliatory attacks using drones and\nmissiles targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US\nmilitary assets, as a form of self-defence.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Anadolu Agency<\/p>",
