Several stages remain before the plan is implemented.<\/p>\n<p>According to detikNews, the National Security Commission is an\nimportant body in Iran\u2019s parliament. They approved the regulation amid\nthe closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to attacks by the United\nStates (US) and Israel on Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian state television reports, citing a member of the\nparliamentary security commission as reported by AFP and Anadolu Agency\non Tuesday (31\/3\/2026), explain that the plan includes a series of new\nregulations governing the strategic waterway.<\/p>\n<p>Under the plan, Iran will establish a Rial-based toll system for the\nStrait of Hormuz. Ships will have to pay transit fees in Iran\u2019s national\ncurrency, the Rial\u2014followed by the \u201cimplementation of Iran\u2019s sovereign\nrole\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>There are also provisions for \u201cbanning American citizens and the\nZionist regime from passing through it\u201d, and prohibitions on other\ncountries imposing sanctions against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Fars News Agency reported that one member of the National Security\nCommission, Mojtaba Zaeri, explained that the bill also includes\nrestrictions prohibiting ships related to the US and Israel from passing\nthrough the Strait of Hormuz, including countries that impose unilateral\nsanctions against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>However, the toll bill still needs to undergo a full vote in Iran\u2019s\nparliament. After that, the regulation will be reviewed by Iran\u2019s\nGuardian Council and signed by the President of Iran to be enacted as\nlaw.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that the US and Israel have been attacking Iran since 28\nFebruary.
